About us

Founded in 2017, Wild Rose Cottage Kitchen is the creation of mother and daughter team, Karen and Jess Warren.

Prior to this, as Wild Rose Vintage, Karen has lovingly sourcing quality genuine English vintage homewares of all kinds, and vintage china in particular; to own, to hire, and to buy and sell in both shop and vintage fair settings for many years. Over time, a lifelong hobby had become a small  business!

In response to popular request, providing afternoon tea catering too was the next step. Karen and Jess decided to team up to meet demand, whilst retaining the personal touch of a unique small business.

Karen and Jess are both passionate home bakers-

Wild Rose Cottage Kitchen was born!

We can now provide the whole afternoon tea experience, as a traditional “sit down” or buffet style, with all the vintage trimmings!

We are also privileged to have a regular stall at Wyken Vineyards Farmers’ Market, voted to be one of the top ten farmers’ markets in the U.K.

We hope you will enjoy our website, and follow us on Facebook @WildRoseCottageKitchen.

We would love to hear from you!

Meet Karen & Jess

Brought up in rural Suffolk and with a farming family background, we both know how lucky we are and always seek to promote and share our country lifestyle heritage.

Karen

I was taught to bake by my mother and grandmother, and enjoy making vintage recipes along with modern takes on old favourites. Collecting vintage floral crockery and beautiful china and hand-embroidered linens has been a lifelong interest of mine.

When not working, I spend as much precious time as possible with my wonderful family. There have also been many special animals who have shared our lives along the way. Today, these are two adopted ex racing greyhounds, a small flock of free-range chickens (who lay the gorgeous eggs that we use in our Wild Rose bakes), and two elderly turkeys. When time allows, I try to tame my wilful cottage garden.

 Jess

I am a practising local veterinary surgeon and a keen home baker. At university, I co-ran our campus’s annual ‘Bake-Off’ style competition in aid of Comic Relief. I like a serious technical challenge and a chance to use my creativity.

In my spare time, I love walks along the East Anglian coastline with my fiancé and my two rescue dogs, a naughty spaniel and a cheeky greyhound!
